day-trip to berlin…
at first, in the rolling can, full with people. berlin sunk in chaos because of the general check of trains and trams. upon that, school is out and the weather is great. my timing on planing trips is the best ever, as usual.
then on the streets of berlin, also full. a rainbow of skin colors, of business and hollyday outfits, of in hands holded city-maps and cameras.
i went to the embassy to get a new identity-card. the pictures i needed were more expensive than the application. not bad. and the way to the photographer on the corner took longer than the time i spent inside the office, including waiting. don’t try to be hurry in berlin these days. it doesn’t work, at least as long as you have to go out.
i had lots of time. i just didn’t want to whaste it all with the things i had to do.
the turkish-market is the event. a real market, narrow and full with different languages, where people go even without needing anything. but nobody goes back home without buying something. tea and spices, sewing and kitchen stuff, vegetables and meat, clothes, shoes, hand-food, and a cloud of smells and accents…
next to it, the river. people sit and read, listen to street-musicians, drink a coffee and have a break… a real-life flair (allmost “southly”) in the heart of germanys most colorfull city.
the trip finished not far away from market, with a cheese-cake and the sparrows, before we took the way back home. we had to put our new turkish-twins-look on and drink a beer in my low-energy-garden.

i love linux
nach wie vor bin ich ein fan vom pinguin. seit mir vor vielen jahren marian und bubi den ubuntu vorbeigebracht haben (danke, jungs!), höre ich nicht mehr auf, mich daran zu erfreuen.
inzwischen weiß ich auch nicht mehr wieviele eigene und fremde rechner ich damit bestückt hab. und sie laufen bis heut alle problemlos.
die neue erfahrung damit hab ich mir in den letzten 2 tage selber geschenkt. klingt irre aber ist wahr.
mein nachbar, ein ganz liebes kerlchen, hatte da eine nicht-funktionierend-wollende pc-ähnliche kiste zu stehen. nachdem ich das ding näher in augenschein genommen hab, der schreck: 500MB festplatte, 64MB RAM, 300MHz und ein virus im boot. was macht man da? wegschmeißen und vergessen? NEIN!
die lösung heißt: LINUX! eine kleinere version als mein geilen ubuntu, auch als live zu verwenden, namens Damn Small Linux (DSL). installiert braucht dieses betriebssystem nicht mehr als 132MB und läuft auf der kiste wie ein uhrwerk. gängige anwendungen sind alle vorhanden, obwohl schlanker gehalten. einziger haken: die oberfläche ist nur in englisch, oder ich bin zu blöd um sie zu ändern. dennoch… so what?

many things happen around me now. lots of new inputs, of new pictures. here are some of them, token on the begining of my hollyday.
the swan ist still there. inbetween i’m not really sure any more about wich swan-family i met at first. now i know that there are two of them. and there is a family of beavers too, with many whelps.
here ist for you: urban, suburban, nature and me.
